These terms are the agreement between you and Better Life With Apps for your use of Hugbie and this website. By using Hugbie you accept them. If you do not accept them, do not use the app.

1. What the service is

Hugbie is a cozy daily self-care companion. An otter friend lives on a little island harbour and notices when you look after yourself: your care goals, a bedtime ritual, voyages, finds and a memory book of your days.

Hugbie is a gentle companion, not therapy, medical advice or a crisis service. If you are struggling, please reach out to a professional or a local helpline.

2. No account

There is no signup. Your harbour and everything in it are stored on your device, as described in the Privacy Policy. You are responsible for keeping your own backups: if you lose or reset your phone without a backup, we cannot restore your data.

3. Hugbie Plus subscription

• What it is. Hugbie is free to use. Hugbie Plus is an optional auto-renewing subscription that unlocks the Plus content and tools shown on the purchase screen in the app.
• Plans, price and period. Plus is offered as a monthly plan and a yearly plan. The price, the billing period and any free trial are shown on the purchase screen in your store's currency before you confirm, and they are the ones that apply to you.
• Payment and renewal. Payment is charged to your Apple Account when you confirm the purchase. The subscription renews automatically for the same period at the then-current price unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period. If a free trial is offered, any unused part of it ends when you subscribe.
• You cancel through the store. Open Settings → your Apple Account → Subscriptions on your iPhone, choose Hugbie Plus and cancel. Cancelling stops the next renewal and you keep Plus until the period you already paid for ends.
• Refunds. The App Store handles refunds under Apple's own policy. We do not hold your payment method and cannot charge or refund you directly.
• Restoring. If you have paid but Plus is not shown, use the restore option on the purchase screen while signed in with the Apple Account you bought with.

Apple's standard licensed application end user license agreement also applies to the app on iOS.

4. Not medical or crisis care

Hugbie is a gentle companion for everyday self-care. It is not therapy, not medical advice, and not a crisis service. Do not rely on it for diagnosis, treatment or emergencies. If you are in danger or in crisis, contact your local emergency number or a helpline right away.

5. Acceptable use

You must not attack, overload, reverse-engineer or work around the limits of the service or its content downloads, copy or resell the app's content, or use the app for anything unlawful.

6. Your content

What you enter in Hugbie stays yours. We do not receive it. If you send us feedback or a support message, you permit us to use it to answer you and to improve the app.

7. Our intellectual property

The app itself, including its software, art, sounds, interface, name and branding, belongs to Better Life With Apps or its licensors. These terms give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app. They do not give you any right to copy, sell, sublicense or reuse the app or its branding.

8. Availability

We may change, suspend or discontinue parts of the app, including Plus content. Features that need to download content need an internet connection. We do not guarantee that the service will be available without interruption.

9. No warranty

Hugbie is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranty of any kind, express or implied, to the fullest extent the law allows.

10. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, Better Life With Apps is not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential or punitive damages, or for lost data. Where liability cannot be excluded, our total liability for any claim relating to Hugbie is limited to the amount you paid us for the app in the twelve months before the claim arose.

Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot be excluded under the law that applies to you, including your mandatory rights as a consumer.

11. Termination

You may stop using Hugbie at any time and erase your data, as described on the deletion page. We may suspend or end access if you break these terms. Sections 6, 7, 9, 10 and 12 survive termination.

12. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Türkiye, and disputes arising from them are subject to the courts of Türkiye. If you use Hugbie as a consumer, this does not take away the protection of the mandatory consumer law of the country you live in.

13. Changes to these terms

We update these terms when the app changes. The date at the top of this page says when we last did. Continuing to use Hugbie after a change means you accept the updated terms.
