Privacy Policy
Last updated: 2026-10-25
This policy explains what Hugbie does with your information. It covers the Hugbie mobile app and this website, both published by Better Life With Apps.
The short version
- There is no signup and no password. Hugbie does not ask for your name or email address.
- Your friend's name, goals, notes, nights and care history are stored on your phone. We do not run a server that receives them.
- The app downloads guided audio and shop content from a content server. These are plain downloads that carry nothing of yours.
- Purchases go through Apple and are processed by RevenueCat. Feedback you choose to send, and anonymous statistics about how many devices use the app, go to Wiredash, which hosts them in the EU.
- The app contains no advertising SDK and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- You can erase everything on your phone at any time, as described on the data deletion page.
1. What stays on your phone
When you use Hugbie you give it your friend's name, your goals and notes, and the entries you make in the app. This includes things like your care goals and reminder times, entries and private notes you write, sleep and dream notes, your harbour and its keepsakes, your language and sound settings.
All of this is stored locally on your device, in the app's own storage. It is not uploaded to us, and we cannot read it. Because the data lives only on your device, we cannot recover it for you if you lose the phone or delete the app, unless you have exported a backup yourself.
2. Backups and sharing, at your choice
In Settings you can export a backup of your harbour as a file and restore one later. Exporting opens your phone's share sheet, and you choose where the file goes (for example Files, AirDrop or a mail app). The same is true when you share a memory book. Nothing is sent anywhere automatically. Once you share a file, its handling is up to the service you chose.
3. Downloads from our content server
The app downloads guided audio sessions and the catalog and small content packs for the shop from a content server that we operate on Cloudflare's network. These are ordinary downloads of files over HTTPS. The app attaches no account, name or other identifier of yours to them, and it does not upload your data in these requests.
As with any request over the internet, the server and its network provider see your IP address and the time of the request. We use them to deliver the files.
4. Reminders
Reminders are scheduled on your device by the app and shown by your phone's notification system. They are not sent from a server. The app asks for notification permission the first time you turn a reminder on, and you can switch it off in your phone's settings at any time.
5. Purchases
Hugbie Plus is an optional subscription sold through the Apple App Store, which takes the payment. We never see or store your card number.
Purchases are processed through RevenueCat, which acts on our behalf. RevenueCat receives purchase and subscription information from the store, together with an app user identifier it generates for your installation, so that the app can tell whether Plus is active and so that you can restore a purchase. We do not receive your name or email address from it.
6. Help, feedback and app statistics (Wiredash)
The Help & feedback form in the app and the app's usage statistics are provided by Wiredash, which processes them for us and hosts them in the European Union (the Netherlands).
Feedback you choose to send. If you send feedback, Wiredash receives what you type, a screenshot if you add one, and device and app information such as the device model, operating system version, the app version, the language you use in the app and whether you have Hugbie Plus and which plan. If you enter an email address so that we can reply, Wiredash receives that too. A screenshot shows whatever was on the screen at that moment, so review it before you send it. We read the feedback in Wiredash to answer you and to improve the app. The care history and private notes stored on your phone are not attached.
Anonymous app statistics. While you use the app, the Wiredash SDK also sends anonymous usage events so that we can count how many devices and sessions the app has. These carry a random identifier that the SDK creates on your phone (it is replaced if you reinstall the app), your platform, the app's version and build, and the country derived from the connection. They contain no name, email address, Apple Account or anything you wrote in the app, and we use them only to understand how the app is used and which versions are in use. They are not used for advertising and are not combined with data from other companies.
You can also write to us by email from the support page. We use your message and email address only to answer you.
7. Tracking and advertising
Hugbie contains no advertising SDK, does not show ads and does not track you across other companies' apps or websites. It does not ask for App Tracking Transparency permission.
8. Who your data reaches
| Provider | What it is used for |
|---|---|
| Apple App Store | Selling and billing the Hugbie Plus subscription |
| RevenueCat | Processing purchase and subscription state |
| Wiredash (EU) | The in-app feedback form, the feedback you choose to send, and anonymous app statistics |
| Cloudflare | Delivering the audio and shop content the app downloads |
We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising.
9. How long things are kept
- Data on your phone stays until you erase it in the app or remove the app.
- Purchase records are kept by Apple and RevenueCat under their own policies.
- Feedback and support emails are kept for as long as we need them to answer you and improve the app, and you can ask us to remove them.
- Anonymous app statistics are kept in Wiredash for our usage reports. They are not linked to you.
10. Deleting your data
Erase everything on your phone from Settings in the app, or remove the app. Because we hold no account for you, there is nothing else to delete on our side apart from feedback or support messages you sent us. Deleting the app also removes the random identifier used for the anonymous statistics. The data deletion page has the steps.
11. Your rights
Under the GDPR and the Turkish personal data protection law (KVKK), you can ask to access, correct, erase, restrict or port personal data we hold about you, or to object to its processing. The personal data we hold is limited to what you send us in feedback or support messages; the anonymous app statistics cannot be linked to you. To exercise a right, write to privacy@blwapps.com.
12. Children
Hugbie has no accounts and sends no personal data to us. If you believe a child has sent us personal information in a message, write to privacy@blwapps.com and we will delete it.
13. This website
This website is a set of static pages. It sets no cookies, runs no analytics or tracking scripts, and loads nothing from other websites.
14. Changes to this policy
When the app changes in a way that affects this policy, we update this page and change the date at the top.
